The onchain sportsbook
Overtime is a fully onchain sportsbook. There is no bookmaker setting prices behind a desk: an automated market maker prices every market, smart contracts hold the bets and settle them, and Chainlink data feeds deliver the results. It is one of the more unusual providers on VIP-IBC, and one that brings a genuinely different pricing model to the platform.
Overtime grew out of the Thales Protocol, which launched in 2021, and is governed by the Overtime DAO and its Council, with holders of the $OVER token at the base. Its markets run on three Ethereum layer-2 networks: Optimism, Arbitrum and Base.
About Overtime
Because bets are placed against a liquidity pool instead of another customer, there is always a price to take, and the fee is transparent: a flat 2% protocol fee, with a reduced margin when you bet with $OVER. Bets can be funded in USDC, USDT or ETH, and Overtime also supports card, Apple Pay and Google Pay deposits.
There is no gambling licence; the terms describe open-source software run by smart contracts, and the full sports rules are published in its documentation. On VIP-IBC you get Overtime’s prices next to the bookmakers’ odds on every game.

At the time of writing Overtime had around 760 open markets, led by soccer, American football and ice hockey, with esports (CS2, League of Legends, Valorant, Dota 2) and fighting sports close behind. Its published rules also cover table tennis, volleyball, water polo, Aussie rules, Formula 1 and futures, so the list grows with the season.
Types of bets
Markets are two-way or three-way: winner (moneyline), handicap and totals for every game, with halves, quarters and periods where the sport allows. Basketball and American football go deep into game props and player props, from points and rebounds to passing yards.
Singles, parlays and same-game parlays are all supported, and live betting is available on moneyline markets, priced with OpticOdds data and settled through a Chainlink node.
Unique features
Every position is self-custodied and settled onchain, so you never wait for a cashier. The Sports AMM means you are not depending on another bettor to take the other side, and the rules for each sport, from regulation time and overtime to draws and abandoned events, are published in advance.

Where is Overtime available?
Overtime’s terms prohibit users in the United States and its territories, Belarus, Burma, China, Cuba, DR Congo, Iran, Iraq, Liberia, North Korea, Sudan, Syria and Zimbabwe. On VIP-IBC, Overtime prices appear in the same betslip as every other connected source, so you can compare the AMM price with the bookmakers on every game.
